South African Gospel Star Laid to Rest in Cape Town
DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA - 21 November 2010: Lundi Tyamara at the Crown gospel awards on 21 November 2010 held at the ICC in Durban, South Africa.
Lundi is sadly no longer with us. His life kept his fans entertained and in awe of his great talent.
Lundi was a father to son Sibonello and daughter Bella, both of whom are in their teens. Speaking to Move magazine, Lundi said he wanted to set a good example for them. He said he had moved on from all the gossip because it had a stressful effect on his life.
“I’m an orphan and raising my two beautiful children who are in their teens … I’m trying to set a good example for them so Lundi said...
The memorial service was held for gospel singer Lundi Tyamara at the Grace Bible Church in Soweto
Tyamara passed away on Friday at the age of 38 after a long battle with abdominal tuberculosis and liver complications.
Tyamara was laid to rest on Sunday in his home town of Worcester in the Western Cape in Cape Town.
The head of state his excellence the President of South Africa, President Jacob Zuma has sent his condolences to the family of late gospel singer Lundi Tyamara, saying he was one of the best artists the country has ever produced.
The 38-year-old died just after midnight at the Edenvale Hospital.
